The village of Orton is a delightful and beautiful village in the Cumbrian Lune Valley, just north of the Howgill Fells, only 5 minutes from the M6 motorway at junction 38 and only 15 minutes drive from Appleby, Kendal and Kirkby Stephen. Orton is well known for being the stop-off point on Wainwright’s coast to coast walk before the long haul to Kirkby Stephen and sits amidst an interesting rural landscape offering a recently refurbished local pub, village stores and Post Office, regular village markets and a children’s playground.
